Hail Gotcha – Full of Fun and Outta Sight!
Have you ever had “one of those days?” Sure you have…everyone has them.
Have you ever wondered why? I firmly believe that every now and then, The
Goddess Gotcha flits into our lives and wreaks a little havoc, just to make
things a little more interesting. Sometimes, she does it because we’ve gotten
too serious in our daily lives and have forgotten to inject it with some
fun…and sometimes she zings you because she’s bored and you’re the first
one she comes across. Either way, you must admit that the forces of chaos
do make us laugh at ourselves – once we get over how mad we are.
Gotcha delights in those
everyday blunders which make us look and feel like absolute idiots, and then turns
us into giggling fiends who can’t believe what just happened! How about the time my
Dad reached into my Mom’s handbag in a dark theater to get some lip balm, only to
find when the lights came up that he was wearing pristine peach lipstick? Or the
time my friend Terri was pulled over by a police officer, fumbled in her glove box
for her registration, and inadvertently handed it over along with a glow in the
dark condom. (By the way, the officer laughed so hard, he gave her a warning –
and KEPT the condom!)
You see, these weird things happen everyday to everybody…
and when they first happen we’re a little embarrassed, or miffed…or even mortified…
but later, admit it — we all LAUGH, because it’s too absurd not to. So, the next
time you’re caught with toilet paper sticking to your shoe, or your coat hanging out
the door of your car, remember to say a special chant to Gotcha for adding a little
spice to your life. Thank her for her mischievousness, her tomfoolery and for making
us question authority, examine all set rules, and raise a little hell. When you’re
done, sit quietly in her presence, thinking about what’s happened until you begin to
laugh. Laugh as long as it takes!
