WytcheHaven Weekend #10 - Riding the Winds of Change
Tickets will not be sold at the gate & you MUST pre-register for this event. .
WytcheHaven is happy to welcome author and musician Mike Nichols for his first Weekend at Pyrth Annwn and the enchanting sounds of BellaWyck.
Mike Nichols is the celebrated author of The Witches' Sabbats book and Web site--the ultimate resources on Pagan holidays and related writings--and a contributing author to Creating Circles & Ceremonies. Mike has been a featured speaker on National Public Radio, Spiral Dance Radio, and Eclectic Pagan Podcast (episodes 16 and 22) on iTunes. He does extensive online teaching and writing, occasionally guest lectures at Pagan festivals, and performs in a Pagan band called Spellbound.
A pioneer in the American neo-Pagan movement, Nichols taught classes in Witchcraft for twenty years continuously, from 1970 to 1989, in Columbia and Kansas City, Missouri, through the Communiversity and at his bookstore, The Magick Lantern. He was also the editor of The Lantern's Light, the store's in-house publication. A founding member of the Coven of New Gwynedd, Nichols was the first Wiccan representative on the Kansas City Interfaith Council.
BellaWyck is a group of musical ladies who have come together to share their love for Music, Magick and Mirth! From blue-grassy tales of playing in fields of Mulberry to reverent, entrancing Spellsongs about the Goddess, the music these women can make with each other exceeds the boundaries of normal categorization. While an Indian chant beaks forth one moment, the next is full of mandolin and guitar inspired revelry, and at the end of each show, everyone will find themselves stomping their feet, and singing along to these soon to be timeless tunes.
The most memorable of their recent work is likely the popular “Sister Spell,” in which the voices of the Goddess times three, times three, will resound throughout the boundaries of the sacred lands, and invite each kindred soul to join along in celebrating the love of the Goddess.
Sionna Lochlainn has been High Priestess of Elysium Coven in Kansas City since 1994, which is is a legally recognized church in the state of Missouri, offering rites of passage, legal clergy, counseling and classes in Witchcraft. She is a long term member of the Heartland Spiritual Alliance (serving as president for four years), the organization that hosts the annual Heartland Pagan Festival, the largest Pagan festival in the midwest. Although not a licensed psychologist, she has had much experience in spiritual counseling for alternative lifestyles and, together with her husband, routinely hosts workshops and events for the midwest polyamory community.
Sede was born of a seed and has lived this life as a co-creator unaware. He began dreaming in another life and woke up in southeast Arkansas at the dawn of the Age of Aquarius. During the past two decades he has been experimenting with various musical concepts and genres only to return to his roots as a co-creator. He has studied Buddhism, Christianity, Gnosticism, Hinduism, Islam, Native American Religions, Wicca, and Zen - not that it matters. Today he listens more than he speaks and he seeks after the truth of the matter - typically only finding that the truth lies no further than we imagined it to be in the first place. "Ultimately, the details of your reality don't matter, it's the way you embrace your reality that makes those details come alive for you."
Come meet, share & learn with your fellow Weekenders at our many workshops and rituals. Explore the forests of Pyrth Annwn and connect with the water sprites at the Strawberry River, attend a variety of classes and workshops OR, just relax with your fellow pagans in a shaded grove, and browse the many vendors shops on Artisan's Alley. Get caffeinated each morning at the Wytche's Brew, where complimentary coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate and more will be available to festival goers. Share ritual with us every evening, as we blend our energies into the building of our community & come dance the main fire and celebrate pagan magick with the gods and goddesses.
Vendors are welcome, and will not be charged any additional fees. We just request that in lieu of a fee, each vendor donate one item of their choice to the Weekend Raffle. Any vendor questions should be addressed to Wytchehaven@earthlink.net. Vendors are also welcome to come in on Thursday to pre-set their wares.
